Just finishing up a nightmare install... Probably the worst thing is that the problems havent been osx related, but have (so far) all related to Vista being deployed on a proportion of the clients.
Upto this point we've used Winclone to create a disk image and either deployed it via ARD or manually if there's only a few.
On this job I was doing the winclone restore manually and every mac has had a long drawnout run through of CheckDisk before (mostly) going into windows. Of course Diskcheck being diskcheck sometimes its choked and had to be rebooted, and as time has been getting short I've even installed from fresh via the Install DVD :-( (there's no extra apps going on thankfully)

The winclone forums are alive with SL probs and Win 7 issues, but I thought I'd be ok with this as It's Vista.... It appears not..

So.. whats everyone else now using to deploy Windows? Do I have to goto battle with deploystudio again?? I've been looking at Paragons Drive Backup 10 which can create a bootable linux disk and then restore a windows image...

Any other suggestions? I wish Apple would step up and give us a solution for this...

Al.

I've been using Deploy Studio recently for dual boot setups. No problems for me although it has always been windows XP (even very recent jobs).

Thanks Dave. Yeah Winclone was fine with XP as well.. at least to date... I guess I'll have to make another effort with deploystudio... Just never quite understood it work method.. I guess mainly because it seems to work in a few different ways lol

"I thought I'd be ok with this as It's Vista" ha!

I used deploy studio over the last few months to push out dual boots. Had a bit of difficulty with it,
so i just used it to partition the drives and push out the windows image. Then asr command line to push out the mac image.
