Hi chaps,

I have a Leopard server running 10.5.8 in a College. It's an OD Master connected to AD for authentication purposes. One Ethernet interface is connected to the main 10.0.x.x network, the other is configured in a 192.168.x.x network and provides DHCP service to the clients. NAT is configured to forward traffic from 192.168.x.x to the 10.0.x.x network so the clients can access external services.

The problem is that the proxy for the 10.0.x.x network uses port 801, which is whitelisted (to enable remote management). The 192.168.x.x network is configured to use port 8080 to apply the web filter and block content. Am I correct in thinking that this is pointless, since the NAT will simply forward the traffic to the 10.0.x.x network, therefore bypassing proxy settings on the 192.168.x.x network?

Any way of getting around this on the Server despite the rather simplistic NAT options? The Firewall is controlled by a "higher authority", so chances of a VPN connection are remote!

Cheers
Chris
